Meet Aaron

I'm honored to currently serve on Westerville City Council, and I'm running for re-election to continue the work of making our city a great place to live, work, and raise a family. As a lifelong Westerville resident and a graduate of Westerville City Schools, I have deep roots in this community and a strong commitment to its future.

Professionally, I've been a licensed attorney for over 20 years, specializing in representing local governments across Ohio. That experience has given me a clear understanding of how effective, responsive, and fiscally responsible local government should operate—and it's knowledge I bring with me every day in service to Westerville.

My wife, Jennifer, and I are raising our three children here. All of them have either graduated from or are currently enrolled in Westerville City Schools. Like so many families in our community, we care deeply about preserving what makes Westerville special while planning responsibly for the future.

During my time on Council, I've worked to support smart development, maintain high-quality city services, and ensure open, transparent decision-making. I'm seeking re-election to build on that work and to continue representing the people of Westerville with integrity, experience, and a shared sense of purpose.

Why I'm Running

I am running because I believe in the power of local government to make a real, lasting difference in people's lives—and I'm not done fighting for Westerville.

Over the past two years, I've been proud to serve on City Council and work alongside neighbors, city staff, and community partners to strengthen our infrastructure, protect our neighborhoods, and support economic growth that reflects our values. But there's more work to do.

I am running to ensure Westerville remains a place where families thrive, businesses grow, and everyone feels heard. I believe in thoughtful leadership—grounded in transparency, fiscal responsibility, and collaboration. I've listened, I've learned, and I've led. Now, I'm ready to keep building on that foundation.

Key Issues

Priorities

My specific priorities include:

  1. Public Safety - Public safety—including both police and fire services—is essential to the well-being and vitality of the City of Westerville. Through strong financial support and strategic investment, the City must ensure that its public safety departments have the resources, training, and personnel needed to keep our community safe and resilient.
  2. Fiscal Responsibility - As a steward of taxpayer dollars, I believe fiscal responsibility is fundamental to good governance. Westerville deserves leadership that carefully manages public funds, invests wisely in essential services, and plans for long-term stability without burdening future generations. I'm committed to ensuring every dollar is spent with purpose, transparency, and accountability—because strong finances are the foundation of a strong community.
  3. Welcoming Westerville - A top priority in making Westerville a truly welcoming city is ensuring that every resident—regardless of age, background, or life experience—feels valued, supported, and included. This includes expanding programs that help residents age in place with dignity and independence, while diversifying housing options to meet the evolving needs of future generations. Westerville will continue its strong tradition of delivering high-quality public services and maintaining a world-class park system that offers accessible, well-maintained green spaces and recreational opportunities for all. By fostering a culture of respect, inclusion, and opportunity, Westerville is committed to being a vibrant, forward-thinking community where everyone has a place and a path to thrive.

Accomplishments

While I know there's more to do, I am proud of what we've accomplished the past two years, including:

  • Developed the Home Repair Program to provide grant funding and execution of home repair projects of Westerville residents. This is a first of its kind program, which is administered in a partnership with the Mid Ohio Regional Planning Commission, will provide millions of dollars to resident to make it possible for them to stay in their homes.
  • Updated portions of the zoning code to encourage more diversified housing options, including accessory dwelling units.
  • Began remodeling and construction on a cutting edge municipal complex to create a one-stop-shop for City services, all without raising taxes.
  • Enacted protections for all our residents, including banning a harmful therapy for minors that has been widely discredited by most major medical associations.
  • Approved multiple land development projects that will bring millions of dollar in tax revenues to secure the ability of the City to provide high quality services to residents in the future.
